March 8, 2020 is International Women’s Day (#IWD2020), a time to celebrate the impact of women to our business, which in turn helps us empower women in Africa. The #IWD2020 theme is #EachForEqual and we have three equally compelling stories to share about how we and our parent company have blazed the trail for women over the last 100 years and how the women of the future are featured in our Africa trips.
The Women of The Travel Corporation (TTC)
As we celebrate 100 years of TTC, we look at some of our first trailblazers, Evelyn Tollman, who paved the way and Beatrice Tollman, who became the first female executive chef in South Africa.
Did you know that 80% of African Travel, Inc.'s staff is female, with two-thirds in upper management positions? We’re especially inspired by our CEO, Lucille Sive who shares her journey and the African women who inspire her.
We’re not just blown away by our female colleagues. Designing tailor-made journeys in Africa connects us to incredible women entrepreneurs and safari guides across the continent which we love to feature in our trips. Explore three trips that feature women who have gender equality in their community and country and who are leaving an indelible mark in Africa.
